BEHAVIOUR

INTRODUCTION

At Haslington Primary Academy and Nursery, we aim to provide a safe, secure, happy school and caring environment for all children. Our Golden Rules, which are shared with the children, support a positive learning ethos in the academy environment, and are used in conjunction with our character-building curriculum.

Our character-building curriculum focuses on RESPECT.

OBJECTIVES

Our objectives, as set out in our Positive Behaviour Policy, aim to:

  • create an ethos of excellent behaviour in Haslington Primary Academy and Nursery. This will ensure that children are happy, secure and safe;
  • ensure that all are treated fairly, shown respect and to promote positive relationships;
  • To help children understand that good citizenship is based upon excellent behaviour;
  • To build a school community which values kindness, care, a sense of humour and empathy for others.

Our positive reward approach is popular amongst pupils. Smileys are awarded in line with our RESPECT values and children have the opportunity to attend a reward party at the end of each term.

Where children need support or have individual behaviour needs, support is offered in conjunction with advice from the SENDCO and recommendations from policy.

Please see the Positive Behaviour Policy at the bottom of this page for further information.
