Our School Governors
Meet our current Governors

Pauline Turner Chair
I retired in 2020 from my position as a Vice-Principal in a local primary school in Cheshire East. I have been involved with education for more than 42 years. During my time as Vice-Principal, I had responsibility for Safeguarding, Pupil Premium and Standards. I am delighted to be a governor at Haslington Primary Academy and am proud to be able to support the staff.

Peter DuncalfeVice Chair
I joined the team of governors as a Parent Governor in 2022.  My oldest son has been through Haslington Primary and come out the other side, and my youngest is currently in year 5. I am eager to see the school continue to be a place where children love to come to learn and grow as it has been for my children.

Donna Mitchell – Principal
I started to work at Haslington Primary Academy in 2019 in the Deputy Head role and progressed to Acting Head before becoming substantive head in 2021. During my career as a teacher before I moved on to leadership, I have taught across all Key Stages and have led many subjects including English which is my specialism. I am passionate about children having the best experiences in school and work tirelessly with my team to provide this.
Zoe Houlston – Staff Governor
I started my teaching career at Haslington Primary Academy in 2021 after completing my teacher training and gaining a First-Class Psychology Degree. Wellbeing, mental health and emotional support are areas that I am passionate about. I am proud to sit on the Haslington Primary Academy Governing Board, representing the views of staff and working collaboratively to continuously develop our school.
Alexandra Lewis – Parent Governor
As a mum of two young children, I value the important role our schools have in building the foundations of a positive and enjoyable education. I live locally on a farm and work as an Agri-Environmental consultant across Cheshire and Staffordshire. I aim to support Haslington Primary Academy to the best of my ability and look forward to the challenge.

Naomi Coates – Co-opted Governor
I joined the school as a Co-opted Governor in 2020. For the past 14 years I have worked in Education and I am passionate about the transformative role that education plays in a community. In my role I will support the school in continuing its journey to provide an enriching and inspiring curriculum for all.
