YEAR 4
MISS BARBER

This is Miss Barber’s first year at Haslington Primary Academy. She loves to make learning fun by giving the children opportunities to learn in a practical way. One of her favourite subjects is History because she loves learning about the past and how life is different to today. Miss Barber wants children to come into school knowing that they are all amazing and can succeed in whatever they put their mind to.

The Year 4 class is supported by Miss Cragg, who is an amazing teaching assistant. Miss Cragg cares deeply for the children in our school and makes learning fun and engaging for all our children. Miss Cragg supports the children both inside and outside of the classroom and encourages children to show their potential in everything they do.

HOMEWORK

In Year 4, children will bring home weekly Maths homework. The children will be given questions to recap on previous learning in class. If they complete their maths each week, they will receive an extra smiley.

Children will also be expected to read at home five times a week and complete two reading activities in their reading journals. Doing both of these will earn them 2 extra smileys.

During the half term holidays, children will be set half term projects to complete, based on their learning in class. Completing this will earn the children up to 3 smileys each. In the summer, our holiday homework usually consists of a Maths, English and topic based activity.
